This Japanese santoku refers to the three advantages, and can handle three foods. The Asian all-purpose knife is especially good for chopping garlic, slicing cucumbers and chopping onions. The blade has a small hole known as grantons, which is also known as grantons to prevent food from sticking when cutting. High quality German stainless steel has been strengthened and the knife is made in Spain. A brilliant addition to my kitchen arsenal. It’s the perfect size and balance to complement my nine-inch Santoku knife and my French knife, and I find myself reaching for it before the other two, especially for smaller jobs (which make up the bulk of food preparation).

Overall a fantastic blade. Super sharp and an awesome addition to your kitchen staples. The edges of the knife are a bit pointy and dug into my knuckle but that’s on me and how I hold it not the knife itself.I have never cut through scallions without squashing them until this knife. Perfect blade!
