Nice book in b/w with better than average layout of parallel sayings. There are many books of parallel sayings out there so be sure that these are four religions in which you're interested. Not too heavy on the editorial. I saw this book in person before purchasing it, so I knew it would make a great gift...of course, I had to buy one for myself, too.

Nice book in b/w with better than average layout of parallel sayings. There are many books of parallel sayings out there so be sure that these are four religions in which you're interested. Not too heavy on the editorial. I saw this book in person before purchasing it, so I knew it would make a great gift...of course, I had to buy one for myself, too.

This is a marvelous little book for the true seeker. Not for the Bible thumping Jesus freak though. Richard Hooper gives a solid introduction to what wisdom teachers really taught complete with historical context and comparative religions. A great read for those wont settle for less than the truth.
