Our decade old colanders had started to show rust, so it was time to find a new set. I bought an RSVP pierced stainless colander on the recommendation of America's Test Kitchen, and am so pleased with it's performance that I've gotten a whole set of sizes. Drains well, cleans well, and the hole size is perfect: large enough to dump a whole pot of pasta and have it drain quickly, small enough to be able to drain a pot of acini de pepe.

I absolutely am loving using this colander! Not only does it perform well when using as its intended function of draining stuff, it also works great as a steamer! And, whether as colander or steamer, I've found the handles do not get hot. They do get a little warm, but I can hold the handles without potholders. Perfect, in my book! When I ordered this 3 quart colander, I wasn't sure it would be big enough, but it holds a full box of spaghetti (about 13 oz.) perfectly. I'm not sure if a whole 16 oz. box of spaghetti would fit in it though. Seems like many of the boxes of spaghetti are quite less than a pound nowadays anyway. Spaghetti does not stick much at all, not like my old colander which this is replacing. The colander is very sturdy and easy to clean.Highly recommended.

I've been using this colander for straining noodles. The colander is sturdy and well made. The holes are at the perfect size for vermicelli noodle and angel hair pasta.

After much debate with myself because of the price of this product, I finally decided to give it a try. I wish I had purchased it ages ago! This colander works so much better than my old one! It drains much faster and is soooo much easier to clean. Also fits into my smaller stockpot better for steaming food. Food, especially pasta, does not stick in the drain holes. A quick swipe with a soapy sponge and it is clean! Well worth the money.

I love this. It is the perfect size for me and my husband. It is beautiful. I always leave most of the pasta in the pan with some starch water for better flavor before continuing with sauce so this size is more than adequate. A big thank you to Cooks Illustrated for their review of this colander. It has great height to keep water from backing up into pasta. So much nicer than the big plastic one I replaced.

I purchased the 5 quart colander many years ago, and was thrilled to find the 3 quart recently. The 5 quart surpassed all my expectations! Well made of stainless steel, drains faster than any other colander I've ever had, and cleans up perfectly in the dishwasher. The 3 quart colander will be great for smaller jobs, now that I'm just cooking for two. I imagine these will last for decades, and couldn't be happier with their quality or performance.

Too bad for me that I opened this up way beyond the normal returns period. The bowl was crushed down on one side of the base. Since the shipping box wasn't damaged, this has to have happened either in packing or manufacturing, and should never have been shipped. Looks like it would have been just what I wanted - if it wasn't damaged.
